I have recently created a range of interiors to replace the original crude seating in my Lima coaches. Designed in TinkerCad, 3D printed on my Ender 3 Neo and hand painted, you can see how I made them in the video linked below – and if you want to print your own just click on the download links.
I've now got designs for 3 different BR Mk2Bs, and what I think is a full range of Mk1s. Each interior consists of two parts, A and B, so they are short enough to fit on most printer beds. Just print both bits and glue them together.
The .stl files are completely free, but if you do use them I'd be grateful if you'd subscribe to my channel and give me a shout-out when sharing on social media. And, please remember they remain my intellectual property, so don't sell them on or use your prints for commercial gain.
Simply download and print both part A and part B of each, glueing them together end-to-end to directly replace the old Lima mouldings. When fitting, make sure you get the toilets on the correct sides for the windows.
To get them to fit, you will need to remove the lower side clips from the roof/glazing unit, but the clips at the ends of the roof are sufficient to keep it in place.
The range includes a Tourist Standard Open (TSO), a Corridor First (FK) and a Brake Corridor First (BFK). For the most part I have printed using blue filament, painting the various partitions, table tops and toilet cubicles.
The baggage area for the BFK is best printed in grey and all the details including the boxes are part of the print, but I have used some fine wire mesh for the inner corridor wall.
I've now finished interior designs for what I think is the full range of Lima Mk1s (see gallery below). These include Standard/Second Corridor (SK) and Open (TSO) coaches, which both use the same body shells.
Other coaches represented are a Composite Corridor (CK), with both first and second class compartments, Buffet Restaurant (RBR), Full Gangwayed Brake (BG) and Brake Corridor Second (BSK) – for which you can choose either with or without the printed mesh, should you want to add your own from fine wire sheeting.
Best printed in a dark grey/space grey filament, using standard settings. They look pretty good unpainted, but if you want to take them to the next level, the veneered partitions and wooden seat sides can be painted brown, and toilet cubicles painted white. The kitchen area in the RBR would be mostly silver, with the buffet and guards areas in the BSK and BG in pale grey. The luggage can be whatever colours you fancy.
